even when dawn was all cut up in the hospital, the mom still made everything about herself. that’s so not fair to dawn.
i think the whole time, the mom knew that dawn was trying to get her attention but she blamed the dad for her cutting.
I personally think its kind of Dawn’s fault. She…doesnt really think properly, and so doesnt all the other people in the movie. I mean, she should be happy that she has family that cares about her, and one friend is always better than no friends, even if they are annoying and stuff. It’s a good thing this is a movie. I really liked it.

This movie is bringing back so many painful memories.
I never got as far as Dawn, but it’s all there. School’s a minefield, home’s a powder keg, Mom is making it all about her, Dad is mostly silent because he doesn’t know what to do and the only way you can express yourself is to slice yourself open. Yup; I remember that way too well.
Spot on, this movie sport on. I know “Dawn” is not real but in so many ways, she is. I just want to hug the poor kid.

@DanteChick09 my mom did that too. Said that I ruined her’s and my father’s life and always said “what if someone finds out? can you even begin to understand how humiliating that would be for us. Why are you on purpose trying to make us look so bad” There was never about them, I did it because I hated myself for being so week to let my folmal classmates bully me, I did it because at home my oppinion was never valid, no one ever listened to me untill I finaly tried to kill myself. But I survived

i feel so lucky…. my mom didn’t really bug me about it, she was just like, “yeah, I see why you would do that. when i was your age I just wanted to hack up my arm sometimes.”
but it is about her. so many of these hurt children are acting out because the parents have far to many emotional problems then them. how can they deal with their problems when they never learn the skills to do this? Its always the same. too many people have children for selfish reasons, and have this “do what i say~ not what i do” mentality. “the Road to hell is paved with good intentions”

I like the fact that this part shows how cutting and self harm really does affect the whole family. Not just the one who hurts themselves.
@spagerbot when most people cut they feel the need. i feel the need but i dont cut. im not wanted by anyone. ever. besides my family
