I have several in-laws who suffer from bi-polar disorder. My 12yr old son also has it. It is a very difficult illness to deal. Props to you for talking about it. :)

bipolar is ruining my life, i wish i could handle every day life like a normal person and not freak out, i could be feeling normal walking to the shop and be depressed walking home

I finished your BP 19 minutes and answered all my questions. Except that I am ready to go out if you cross-over to women. Charles is a lucky guy. You are much more even keel than your first youtube videos. I am happy for you. (please get back on Bones) :)

That’s great what you did, seriously, Mental illness is something nobody should be ashamed of. My friend has a bipolar disorder and when she told me, I could understand things better, how she felt sometimes. And on an even more positive note, you’re so lucky to have a Wurlitzer bubbler, that would be a dream come true for me to have that! I can’t wait to see you again on Bones, I have to wait because i’m watching the french version currently! ;) Have a great week Eric ;)

Thanks for sharing, Eric! It’s really moving and I want you to know that we’re all supporting you!! I’ve been trying to raise awareness about mental illness and I wanted to say thanks because you are just another reason I feel so strongly about the subject. You are inspiring!!
We miss you on Bones but I was really excited when you came back for this last episode! You seem great!! Keep going strong!!!

Eric, I’m watching this and thinking that you are telling my story! Same story, but mine was March 2003, and the cycling & cocktails were the worst for just over 2 years. I lost jobs b/c people didn’t understand. I’m finally relatively even! You had the same reaction to Abilify that I did with Topamax. That was scary for me, but intrigued my opthamoligist. Glad I finally found this. Now, when I feel like falling apart, I can find someone who can relate. Thank you! :) Kari – Albany, NY

I’m so sorry to hear that you have aids!!! Please get better!!

I started getting manic at age 5, the good thing about bipolar disorder is that the crazier you are, the smarter you and I am one of the smart ones so manic depression is just a little “tweak” in my being… so if the voices tell you what to do and you get straight A’s in AP classes and you can make it than it isn’t “bad”…

medication can be all that helps in times when you are losing it but I am not a fan of taking drugs every day for anything… lithium, antipsychotics and depakote are bad

What a great interview, very accurate. My uncle deals with this. At 2:40 he describes hell from his own life experience. The ego is very nice to us sometimes, just like people may be nice to you when you’re up, because they feel that is the best way to get your attention or approval at a particular time. But when you are at your lowest that’s when the ego and the collective egos of others will try and kick you when your down. Pride cometh before the fall, always.

  22. Ekathdnn says:

It takes a lot of courage to talk about this kind of thing. Stay strong and know that God is watching out for you.

    Love,
    Katy

  23. Chanelleml says:

    Stay strong.
    We love you

  24. Sylvaniste says:

This is rather brave you, *hugs* it runs in my family along with a few other things
